The Account Security Question is the question-answer challenge that the Billing Contact will be asked by AOL Member Services to verify the account.

These questions are typically:

• What is your mother's maiden name?
• What street did you grow up on?
• What is your favorite restaurant?
• Etc.

It is important to consider that anyone with your ASQ can easily access your account, change details on the account and even steal your account from you -- with no way to recover it. Making a difficult to guess ASQ, incorporating numbers and extraneous letters will help make it more secure.

The ASQ used to be called the UMV ("Universal Master Verification") for users who have had AOL for many years might have had that on the account.
